Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team has just confirmed a major new collaboration with Adidas, starting from the 2025 season. The German sportswear giant steps in as the team’s official partner, replacing Puma to provide the team’s new kits, footwear, and accessories.

This partnership has been a topic of speculation for some time, and now it’s finally official.

Mercedes described the deal as a groundbreaking moment, with plans for exclusive limited-edition drops throughout the season.

“Our partnership with Adidas is a clear statement of intent as we begin to write our next chapter as a team,” said Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff.

Wolff highlighted the shared values between the two brands. “Adidas is an iconic brand, one that shares our dedication not only to peak performance but to style and sophistication too. This collaboration will redefine what team and fanwear means in our sport. We are excited to break this new ground and work with Adidas as we strive to fight for world championships.”

Adidas Returns to the Motorsport Scene

Adidas’ return to motorsport comes at a time when Formula 1 is expanding its global reach and cultural influence.

“We are very happy to be back in the world of motorsport,” said Adidas CEO Bjørn Gulden. “Interest in Formula 1 has been growing a lot. It’s reaching new consumers and influencing sport and street culture.”

Gulden expressed pride in the partnership, calling Mercedes one of the most successful teams in the sport. “Together, we share a passion for speed, innovation, and performance. We’ll support the drivers and the team to push limits on the track. Off the track, we’ll bring a fresh perspective with exciting lifestyle products, reaching a new generation of fans.”

This collaboration signals a significant moment for Adidas, marking its first major move into Formula 1 in years.

The partnership could also impact Mercedes’ long-standing relationship with Tommy Hilfiger.

The fashion brand became a visible part of the team’s branding during Lewis Hamilton’s long tenure with Mercedes, but Hamilton has since departed for Ferrari.

But George Russell took on an ambassadorial role for Tommy Hilfiger in 2024, leaving room for both brands to coexist.

A New Era for Mercedes

As Formula 1 continues to blend sport, technology, and style, the Mercedes-Adidas partnership feels like a natural fit.

For fans, it promises new ways to engage with the team, both on and off the track. For the team, it’s a bold move signaling fresh energy as they prepare for the challenges of the 2025 season.

This collaboration is more than a deal. It’s the start of a dynamic new chapter for two global icons coming together in the world’s most prestigious motorsport.
